The Atelier design firm is deeply rooted in historic French and English design. With many summers spent in France with family in chateaux and castles, Leslie's aesthetic was formed by living in architecture and interiors that have been loved and maintained hundreds of years after they were created. It is the philosophy that your home is your castle and stewardship of this home enriches your family.
Not only is living in beautiful spaces with ties to the past through antiques or heirlooms the source of familial felicity, it is what strengthens our sense of place in a rapidly changing world. The outside of the home's landscape and exterior should be reflected and flow naturally through the interior spaces.
On the other side of her family, Leslie was raised by Southerners who emigrated to the United States from England in the late 17th century. It is for this reason, she has a love of and often layers American and British Colonial elements with modern design.
